چکیده

Generation expansion planning problems should take into account not only satisfaction of future demand but also environmental constraints, such as government imposed limits on pollution produced by coal based power plants. For a vertically integrated system of power plants, we model those features as a two-stage stochastic programming problem with recourse that can be solved by decomposition methods. We present results for different demand scenarios, corresponding to low, medium, and high economic future growth, as well as different environmental cases, with stringent and non-stringent emission limits for the thermal plants composing the electric mix. Solving generation expansion planning problems with environmental constraints by a bundle method

We discuss the energy generation expansion planning with environmental constraints, formulated as a nonsmooth convex constrained optimization problem. To solve such problems, methods suitable for constrained nonsmooth optimization need to be employed. We describe a recently developed approach, which applies the usual unconstrained bundle techniques to a dynamically changing “improvement functio...

Placement and Sizing of Various Renewable Generations in Distribution Networks with Consideration of Generation Uncertainties using Point Estimate Method

Abstract: Deploying Distributed Generation (DG) units has increased due to yearly increase of electric energy demand and technological advancements beyond Smart Grid. Although, DGs offer several advantages such as reducing economic costs and environmental impacts, the operation of these units in power systems creates several problems. In this paper, optimal allocation and sizing of DG units in ...

برنامه ریزی توسعه واحد های تولیدی در حضور نیروگاه های بادی از نقطه نظر قابلیت اطمینان

The increase in fossil fuel prices has resulted in growing utilization of renewable energy sources in power systems. Wind energy as an economical source of energy has experienced the fastest growth among other energy sources. Traditionally, renewable energy sources as a result of their random nature have not been considered in the process of generation expansion planning. The increase in fossil...

Optimal Reconfiguration in Smart Distribution Network in the Presence of DG Resources under Uncertainties

Due to the growth and expansion of cities and the unchanged distribution network, an important issue for electricity distribution companies is customer satisfaction with the quality of received power. It is clear that with the expansion of load centers, the amount of line power flow increases, that creates problems such as voltage drop and increased losses. Distribution network reconfiguration ...
